What Your Inspection Already Covered
Your home inspection addressed the roof condition, window integrity, door condition, and the overall envelope of the building. The wind mitigation report (if you ordered one) documented your home’s specific hurricane-resistant features and their quality. Together, these tell you where your home is strong and where it’s vulnerable.
What to Do After the Inspection
Address anything flagged as a roof concern before hurricane season. Ensure your impact windows or shutters are functional and maintained. Know where your shutoff valves are. Have a storm plan. Your inspection report is the foundation — what you do with it determines your actual preparedness.
